The shelving system assembly is an activity that requires the help of professionals in that field, if you want a secure installation and optimal performance for your warehouse.
Durability and safety of a racking system, that is the reliability on the load capacity, depend on the way the assembly is carried on. For this reason it is very important to rely on professionals, especially when you want to install industrial shelving systems, cantilevers or pallet racks.
The European standards are also very clear: those who want to install a metal shelving system must use only professionals. Mounting tolerances must comply with the European standard EN 15620 for pallet racking.
The rules to be followed when assembling shelving systems are defined by the manufacturer. Logimat follows the customer from the design phase to the production, up to the final installation, always ensuring a correct assembly of their shelving systems.
What are the assembly phases?
- The shelving and the braced spans must be fixed to the floor: this is to ensure the safety in the warehouse and to prevent the uprights from moving during storage operations.
- The feet must always touch the ground: either through the floor or resting on a plinth prepared for the purpose.
- At least two spacers must be provided when the shoulders are coupled back to back on the double entry shelves.
- Maximum distance between cross-pieces must be observed: manufacturers communicate these measures for the assembly phase.
- The cross-pieces must be blocked according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- The flow and safety tables must be clearly visible.
